Written Information:Halley's comet (also known as comet of Halley or 1P/Halley) is an amazingly well known comet that has an orbit around the solar system that takes about 75 to 76 years. This eye-popping comet was named after the brilliant astronomer Edmond Halley who was the first person to discover how long Halley's comet orbit was and still remembered the markings of the comet to determine which comet it was. The first founder of Halley's comet didn't recieve the rights to have his name for Halley's comet is becuase this chineese astronomer didn't remember the markings of the comet. Many astronomers of Halley's comet have made this mastake besides Edmond Halley. Since, that no one could remember what Halley's comet looked like they couldn't make out what comet it was. This is why technically Edmond Halley was the first person to discover Halley's comet.
Halley's comet has names for when it is furthest and farthest away from the sun. When it the furthest away from the sun it's called a aphelion ( Halley's comet aphelion is millions of miles outside pf Neptune's orbit). The next aphelion will occur in about 2024 A.D.. The name for when Halley's comet is closest to the sun is called a perihelion (Halley's comet perihelion is inside the orbit of Venus). The closest perhelion is probably going to occur around 2061 A.D..

Halley's Comet (also commonly known as Comet of Halley) or what it was officially named recently, 1P/Halley)) has a periodic orbit around the solar system that lasts around 75 to 76 years. This famous comet was named after its brilliant English astronomer named Edmond Halley (1756-1742) who was the first person to accurately predict the return of the amazing comet. This welly known comet follows a retrograde (east to west), elliptical orbit, providing a magnificent, astronomical spectacle that can be witnessed very clearly throughout space with a high-tech. telescope.
